Construction giant Carillion has won facilities management contracts worth more than £200 million for Nationwide Building Society and for Virgin Media.

Wolverhampton-based Carillion (CLLN) will earn a combined £204 million from the deals.

The contract with Nationwide Building Society is for the provision of facilities management services for the society’s entire property portfolio in the UK.

Under the new contract, Carillion will also provide a total facilities management solution for the Society’s high-street branches, of which it has more than 800 throughout the UK.

The contract commences in April 2011 and will be for an initial period of three years, with an option to extend this for a further two years.

Carillion has also been awarded a new facilities management contract by Virgin Media, which renews a current agreement and extends Carillion’s partnership with Virgin Media to at least mid-2013 and potentially to mid-2015.

Under the new contract, Carillion will continue to deliver hard and soft facilities management services for Virgin Media’s UK national estate.

John McDonough, Carillion chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have secured these new contracts with the Nationwide Building Society and Virgin Media.

“This reflects the strong relationship we have built with these customers, for whom we already provide extensive facilities management services. We look forward to strengthening these long-term partnerships under the new contracts.”
