A new £1.2 million residential complex is set to emerge from the re-development of a site in Perry Barr.

The one-acre site at 50 Livingston Road is currently being marketed to investors by Bond Wolfe and will accommodate both students and professionals once completed.

The four-storey 'Livingstone House' was built around 1965 and has seen a number of uses.

It was last occupied as the Little Angels Day Nursery on the ground floor with ancillary residential accommodation above and has previously been used for training, education and conference facilities.

It will be replaced by student accommodation with facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, games room, cinema and library with space reserved for the luxury apartment market.

The complex was recently bought by Aronex Developments, a London real estate development and investment company focused on premium projects across the UK.

Bond Wolfe's managing director James Mattin said: "This is a significant transaction and shows the strength of our growing commercial agency business.

"We are capitalising on a strong start to 2014 and this deal further highlights our regional expertise."

Now named Grand Square, it is scheduled to be completed in December.
