Birmingham’s team at MIPIM will see more than 20 speakers involved in 14 events when they descend on the south of France next month for the annual property show.
Low carbon schemes and how to ensure quality developments while keeping costs to a minimum will be the main focus of the city’s delegation which is being led by Business Birmingham – the inward investment arm of Marketing Birmingham.
Birmingham City Council leader Mike Whitby said: “This year’s events programme has been carefully prepared to enable us to demonstrate that Birmingham leads the agenda on innovative and sustainable city planning.
“We will be showcasing the city’s low carbon plans to influential investors and senior decision-makers at a variety of events where they will be able to meet some of Birmingham’s leading companies.”
Key figures participating include David Adams, head of retrofit at Willmott Dixon; Gary Taylor, joint managing director of Argent (UK developments); Simon Dingle, operations director at support services company Carillion and Bo Aronsson, project manager for RiverCity Gothenburg, part of the Swedish city’s 2050 development plan.
Coun Whitby will be participating in a panel debate on regeneration in the UK as well as leading events on Birmingham’s Decade of Delivery.
