A new service centre for vehicle manufacturer Volvo has opened in Birmingham following a £4 million investment.

The depot is run by Hartshorne Group and is situated on a two-acre site off Chester Road in Erdington.

It will service and repair trucks and buses and employs 35 staff, including 15 new roles created as a result of the scheme which replaces Hartshorne’s existing site in Gravelly Industrial Park.

Hartshorne’s managing director Martin Cronin said: “We’re very proud to have enjoyed a long association with our customers in Birmingham who rightly expect a fast and efficient service.

“Our new depot is perfectly located and has been designed from scratch in order to offer maximum convenience and vehicle uptime.”

Halesowen-based A&H Construction and Development built the facility for the Hartshorne Group.
