Colleagues from community retailer The Midcounties Co-operative swept into action to help clean-up a Black Country neighbourhood and instil pride in the area.

The volunteers joined police, Walsall Council staff, Prince’s Trust representatives and a Community Payback team in a community day at New Invention. The clean- up event was co-ordinated by Safer Walsall Partnership supported by Willenhall and Short Heath Area Partnership.

The Midcounties team lent a hand picking up litter around local streets, and in the field at Beacon Primary School, before the Christmas lights were switched on at The Square. Their store also provided hot drinks and biscuits for the volunteers.
