A 15-year-old green energy business started by a husband and wife from home in Studley has returned to its roots.

CMR Consultants has moved more than 50 employees into the town’s Studley Point offices to occupy half of the building.

Founder and managing director, Dr Cedric Rodrigues will be joined by long-standing customer Halfords, of Redditch, to officially open the new office and celebrate the company’s investment in the local economy and green jobs.

Other national and local customers invited to the launch include, Coca-Cola, Glaxo SmithKline, Arcadia Group, Mettis Aerospace, W H Tildesley and Confederation of British Metalforming.

Dr Rodrigues said: “Our new, energy efficient offices provide double the space to accommodate our rapidly growing team of energy professionals, and we expect to create more new jobs in 2011.”

CMR advises industrial and commercial sector organisations on carbon management, energy and water cost reductions and renewable energy.

It was acquired by the UK-based ENER-G in 2007.

CMR and ENER-G Procurement have moved from smaller premises in Redditch to Studley Point, while the remaining staff of ENER-G Procurement and two other businesses within the energy management division are based at ENER-G’s headquarters in Greater Manchester.
