A surveyor from the Birmingham office of global real estate services firm, DTZ will be swapping his laptop for trainers next month as he joins over 30,000 other people to compete in the 2011 London Marathon.
James Millard from Sutton Coldfield will be running the marathon on April 14 and is aiming to raise £1,600 for housing and homelessness charity, Shelter. He is one of nine DTZ staff taking part in the race.
James, who is part of DTZ’s Corporate Real Estate Management team, said: “What started off as a spur of the moment decision to enter has suddenly become very daunting. With less than a month to go the training sessions are getting longer but hopefully all of the hard work will pay off on the day.
“I’d like to thank everyone that has supported me so far and urge those who haven’t done so already to donate to a great cause.”
