Carl Littlewood is the new general manager of Birmingham's City Inn.
Mr Littlewood (below) has worked in the industry for a decade and was awarded a prestigious Acorn Award from Caterer and Hotelkeeper Magazine in 2003.
Previous posts include appointments with Greenalls at Quincey's in both Gloucester, where he was general manager aged 23, and Northwich as well as De Vere Group's Village Hotels and Leisure Club, Dudley.
Mr Littlewood's last job was as general manager of De Vere's Village, Swindon.
His objectives are to further profits, maximise sales and establish City Caf> as a destination restaurant as well as focusing on conference and events.
Mr Littlewood said: "I am pleased to be joining one of the UK's most interesting, innovative and sustainable hotel groups. City Inn Birmingham has enjoyed many successes and I look forward to building on these to develop partnerships with businesses and the community."
Lynn Hood, director of operations for City Inn's four hotels in London Westminster, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow, said: "It is always great to attract young talent.
