Business people from Birmingham’s Chinatown have raised £2,000 for the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities.

More than 200 guests attended an evening of entertainment at the Ming Moon Restaurant on Hurst Street to fundraise for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, Guide Dogs for the Blind, homeless hostel The William Booth Centre and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The event was organised by Wei Du, the director of the Ming Moon.

The Birmingham Chinatown Lions Club, Birmingham Chinese Festival Committee and Southside BID were also represented.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Coun John Lines thanked the management and staff of the Ming Moon and recognised the commitment of his appeals committee and the citizens of Birmingham.
