Employees of brewing giant Carlsberg UK Ltd raised over £740 for charity at a family fun day held in Streetly.

Over 200 employees – both current and retired and their families, enjoyed games and entertainment at the Veseyan’s Sports and Social Ground in Little Hardwick Road, Streetly.

An auction produced raised £200 and a dress the mummy competition produced some hilarious results.

Transport staff Jason Perrin, Carl Hall and Keith Palmer had their hair shaved off and raised another £300.

All proceeds are going to the League of Friends of the John Taylor Hospice.

The Carlsberg employees are taking part in a national fund-raising drive for the Hospice movement organised in conjunction with Help the Hospices.

To-date they have raised £4,100 locally for the John Taylor Hospice.

John Massey, depot manager based at the Gravelly Park Distribution Depot, said: “It was a great day out for everybody concerned and I would like to thank all the employees who helped in its organisation.

‘‘We would also like to thank the Veseyan’s Sports and Social Club for the loan of their clubhouse and facilities.”
