A major shake-up has been unveiled at Heart Media Group.

The business has appointed a new boss - and the group's marketing arm is now flying solo after a management buy-out.

Roger Marshall has been named as managing director for Heart Media Group and the new marketing company is called HMG Marketing Services.

A group spokesman said Mr Marshall was managing director of Midland Independent magazines for ten years and more recently launched a successful print management agency.

And Mr Marshall said: " The company has an excellent blue chip client base and a reputation in the tourism and leisure sectors for the delivery of high quality products - an excellent foundation for future developments."

His appointment comes in the wake of a stand alone marketing business, HMG Marketing Services, being set up following a management buyout.

That operation is headed by Andrew Haddow as managing director and Suzie Branch as client services director.

The buy-out comes at a time when the marketing services division reports an annual turnover in excess of £400,000.

Mr Haddow, founding managing director of Heart Media Group, will remain a director of the publishing business involved with key client services.

He said: The business has grown rapidly in two years, in both the marketing and publishing divisions. This gave the board the opportunity of forming a stand- alone business marketing business and focus Heart Media Group on its core activities."

The buy-out comes at a time when the marketing services division reports an annual turnover in excess of £400,000.

Nigel Hastilow will remain editor of the Heart magazine and will continue to contribute to tourism titles.

Both companies benefited from investment from Advantage West Midlands' Advantage Growth Fund.
