Pete Rana, managing director of West Bromwich-based manufacturing business Tansun, has been elected president of Black Country Chamber's Sandwell Division.
Mr Rana (right), who set up the award-winning heating and fitness equipment manufacturing business 22 years ago, takes over as president from John Tew of Ault Insurance. He holds the MBE for services to the Asian business community and exporting and is the Chamber's first Asian president.
On receiving the chain of office Mr Rana said: "Local businesses face many challenges and opportunities and I believe that the chamber is a fundamental source of support for them in this.
"Sandwell Chamber is very active with an increasing membership and I plan to keep this momentum going and build its profile further.
"I am hugely excited at the prospect of being able to influence regional and national decision-making in order to help local businesses."
