The Birmingham office of law firm Eversheds has strengthened its real estate team.

Associate Carlos Pierce has joined from Bristol-based Burges Salmon.

Meg Heppel, head of Eversheds' Central region real estate practice, said: "We are advising on many high profile strategic projects across the country and increasingly overseas. Carlos is a great addition to the team."

Mr Pierce said: "The real estate team at Eversheds is leading the way in development work, not just in Birmingham but nationwide and I am excited to be a part of it."

Eversheds' current projects include Masshouse - the regeneration of the 1.1 million sq ft gateway to the east of Birmingham, The Cube, the final phase of the Mailbox, and the redevelopment of the Fort Dunlop building.

The firm is also working on Merchants' Quarter, Bristol, a 1.5 million sq ft £550 million retail led regeneration project for the Bristol Alliance, a joint venture between Hammerson and Land Securities.

It has just advised RBS on the sale of RBS Developments to Morgan Stanley.
