Lichfield firm LSC Group has launched a new ‘’Let’s put all our energy into SSAFA’’ campaign as part of its ongoing commitment to fundraising for its 2010 corporate charity.

The software company has chosen the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help as its charity for this year and the campaign means that every £1 it saves in gas and electricity at its headquarters will be donated to the SSAFA Norton Homes, located in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

Karen Woodgate, SSAFA’s corporate and event manager, said the help from LSC was welcome.

Last year, LSC Group made a saving of £1,000 on its energy bill and will be working hard to achieve a £4,000 saving in 2010.

The campaign will see employees collaborate and work together to support the charity, with the aim to raise £10,000 for the worthy cause in 2010 alone - with an estimated £4,000 savings from energy going directly towards the energy bills at SSAFA Norton Home, Selly Oak.

Ms Woodgate said: “We’re delighted to be working with LSC Group on this exciting and innovative fundraising campaign.

“The support we have received from LSC and their employees has been fantastic with staff taking part in triathlons and our annual skydiving event The Big Jump.

“We look forward to continuing this in 2010 and working with LSC to reach their fundraising target that will make an enormous difference to our much needed Norton Home, at Selly Oak, a facility that has been in constant use since its launch in February 2009.”

SSAFA Forces Help works hard to improve the lives of service men, women and their families.

George Webb, LSC Group managing director, said: “SSAFA is a very deserving cause and one close to our industry and hearts especially since Iraq and now Afghanistan.”
