The Midlands division of a national housing developer has pledged to raise £18,525 to build 15 homes in the developing world.

CALA Homes Midlands has joined the HOPE Builder campaign, a joint appeal from the Home Builders Federation and the charity Habitat for Humanity.

The average cost of a decent home in the developing world is just £1,235 and the aim of the HOPE Builder campaign is to help raise as many multiples of this figure as possible.

Claire Hart, director of corporate communications for CALA Homes, pictured, said: “We’re really proud to become a HOPE Builder and are delighted to announce our support for the campaign.

“Everyone should have the right to a safe and secure place to call home and we hope that our involvement will go some way to help deprived communities escape poverty and build a positive future.”
