Employees from Cadbury’s Bournville site and Cadbury World have helped to raise more than £10,000 to support the first Sweet Charity Week.

Gerrard Baldwin, general manager at Cadbury World and Neil Smart, HR business services manager for Cadbury, led a series of fundraising bingo events for employees. Money was also raised by Cadbury colleagues across the UK, a sponsored walk by the company’s sales team and match funding secured through the Cadbury Cashmatch initiative.

The funds will enable Sweet Charity to provide practical and emotional support to employees from the confectionery industry.

Cadbury employees also attended a series of ‘Lunch and Learn’ events to meet some of Sweet Charity’s beneficiaries, hear from Cadbury’s own visitor volunteers and find out more about how the organisation supports confectionery employees through difficult circumstances.

Dave Pogson, UK sales director at Cadbury said: “Colleagues across the UK have raised a fantastic total which will help the charity to continue to support those within the confectionery industry who need it most.”
