A West Midlands company has landed a new contract with drinks giant Coca-Cola Enterprises following a trade mission to Belgium organised by the International Trade Team based at Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
Bytronic Automation, based at Warwick Technology Park, is supplying Cola plants in Belgium and Holland with LineView - an innovative control and monitoring system for the food and drink sector.
Bytronic specialises in software systems which maximise efficiency for production line control. Products range from bespoke software, on site commissioning and customer training.
David Bradley of Bytronic recently visited Belgium with the trade mission organised by Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and has secured business worth some 400,000 euros (£279,720) as a result of the trip.
Mr Bradley said: "We already have a contract with Cola for its GB plants and are delighted to be now working with plants in Belgium and Holland - the company had been on our wish list for some time and our visits were the ideal way to get in front of them.
"The UK Trade & Investment trade mission to Belgium, which we followed up with independent visits, has also been a catalyst for a number of other excellent leads which are likely to bear fruit in the near future.
"The help from the UK Trade & Investment team has been superb - from the technical reports on local markets down to the travel arrangements for the visits - everyone has been extremely helpful."
He added: "A trade mission is a very cost-effective way to develop business in a market as it provides a tailored report prior to the visit which identifies solid target clients and there is support all the way from the Embassy staff." Mr Bradley has also researched and visited other markets such as the Czech Republic, Norway, the Netherlands, France, Germany, South Africa and Japan.
Malcolm Vaughan, international trade adviser from UK Trade & Investment's West Midlands team based in Coventry said: "Bytronic has invested quality time and effort into market research and preparation - the company really deserves these excellent results."
