More than 100 business owners and senior managers from across the Black Country flocked to hear how to boost their management and leadership skills - from business guru Simon Woodroffe of Dragon's Den.
The Straight from the Dragon's Mouth event was at Dudley's Showcase Cinema, and was arranged by Black Country Chamber & Business Link.
Simon Woodroffe is the man behind the hugely successful restaurant phenomenon Yo! Sushi and is currently competing with Virgin to develop Yo! as one of the UK's leading lifestyle brands.
Delegates heard how he built his own career, following a spell as a rock 'n' roller on the road with Rod Stewart and the Moody Blues.
Also speaking was Prof Les Worrall, Associate Dean of Wolverhampton Business School, who revealed some of the results of his study of management techniques within West Midlands firms.
Master of Ceremonies was business hypnotist Gary Outrageous.
The breakfast seminar was arranged by Black Country Chamber & Business Link in conjunction with Black Country Learning and Skills Council (LSC) as part of the Director Development programme, designed to encourage senior managers to engage in training and development and thus to boost entrepreneurship and creativity in the region.
Up to £1,000 funding is available through the programme to help support the personal development of business owners, directors, partners, and senior managers of Black Country firms with between 20 and 250 employees.
David Keith, management development manager at Black Country Chamber & Business Link, said he was delighted with the attendance.
