A West Midlands businessman has achieved a lifetime ambition after investing £1.5 million in a luxury guesthouse.

David Morris, managing director of Dickens Heath-based financial services firm Premier Group now hopes to help his wife Paulette run the Limes Country Lodge in Solihull in his spare time.

The 17th century building, located in Earlswood near Solihull, has eight bedrooms and is set in six acres of grounds.

The couple hope to cash in on visitors to the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham International Airport and Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Mr Morris said: "This is a lifetime's dream fulfilled.

"Paulette and I have been searching for years for a small, exclusive guesthouse and when we saw The Limes we knew it was the right place for us," he added.

"We love people, we love entertaining and we have a real passion for providing great service - we really like to see people having a great time.

"Our research has shown that there are plenty of basic B&Bs available, and there are many guest-houses at the upper end of the market, but there is a real need for good quality accommodation in the middle of the market."

The couple, who will live at the house with their three children, plan to upgrade the guesthouse and believe that there is huge potential to develop the venue further.
