Business leaders from across the city were invited to hear from two of the leading voices in performance-enhancing psychology at Aston Business School’s free “Positive Psychology in SMEs” event hosted at Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Renowned speaker Jamil Qureshi, who has worked with Premier League football clubs and world number one golfer Rory McIlroy, along with Adrian Furnham, Professor of Psychology at University College London, offered advice to SMEs on how to think differently in order to gain an advantage and how to create positive change through different perspectives.

The event formed part of Aston Business School’s Transformation for Growth project which delivers support to aspiring businesses in the West Midlands with fewer than 250 employees.

The Transformation for Growth project is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
