Engineering firm Vinci Energies has strengthened its UK operation with the acquisition of Teesside-based QSI Group.

QSI Group is a multi-skilled software engineering company, specialising in providing control and automation services.

The acquisition will boost the service offering of Solihull-based Vinci Energies' industrial engineering brand Actemium.

Rochdi Ziyat, chief executive of Vinci Energies UK & Ireland, said: "We are very pleased to welcome QSI Group into Vinci Energies.

"Our business model is perfectly suited to enable QSI to further increase their success while complementing our own focus areas.

"One of Vinci Energies' strategic ambitions is to become a major automation player in the UK and this announcement follows our acquisition of AND Automation in 2015.

"Our expanded market presence will enable us to respond to the rapidly growing needs of the industrial automation in the UK."

Steve Watson, director of QSI Group, added: "This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow our business with the support of Vinci Energies.

"We believe this is an exciting opportunity for QSI Group and look forward to continuing to support the clients we have worked with for many years and developing and progressing our unique business in the years to come."
