Events management firm Top Banana has been named the 2013 company of the year at the Birmingham Post Business Awards.
The Stourbridge-based firm impressed judges with its client list and different approach that has become a strong name in the events market by bringing together a team of creative, production, logistics and venue experts.
The business fought off competition from other category winners, including legal firm Nicklin, manufacturer Sertec and former company of the year winner Pailton Engineering to secure the top prize last night.
Post editor Stacey Barnfield, who chaired the judging panel, said “Top Banana is a local business that works with some truly global brands and has succeeded through a clear, well thought through, growth strategy. It’s not by chance, it is through really hard work and specialist knowledge that they are doing so well.”
Top Banana counts Marks and Spencer, Gucci Group, Lloyds Pharmacy and Bacardi among its clients and specialises in global leadership and management events.
The debt-free firm has remained profitable throughout the recent gloom, and has increased total employment to 32.
It was one of many impressive applications received by the Post in a record year for the awards.
