Birmingham is set for another new hotel after Radisson Blu confirmed it was investing near the airport.
It will become the 15th Radisson Blu in the UK and the second in this region, joining its hotel at Holloway Circus island which is the second tallest building in Birmingham and one of the most prominent in the city core.
The building was recently acquired by Dubai-based real estate business Select Group from Beetham Hotels Birmingham which fell into administration in 2011.
The new hotel will include a restaurant, café/lounge, bar, 13,990 sq ft of meetings and events space, health club and 200 parking spaces.
Shuttle buses will connect the hotel to the terminals, railway station and the National Exhibition Centre.
The hotel is being developed by the owner, Walnut Hotel Holdings.
Wolfgang Neumann, president and chief executive of owner Rezidor Hotel Group, said: "The Radisson Blu hotel, Birmingham Airport will ideally complement the existing Radisson Blu hotel in the city centre, create potential for operational and marketing synergies, and enforce our presence in town."
