Stacey Barnfield, Birmingham Post editor, was guest speaker at a recent Birmingham Business Focus (BBF) dinner and debate at Etc Venues at Maple House, Corporation Street, talking to the theme ‘‘Is Birmingham getting a better press?’’

He suggested the Birmingham business community (excluding BBF) lacks self-belief and self-confidence and needs to shout more – and together – about the city’s assets and what it does well.

Stacey also highlighted that the city’s reputation is changing fast and for the better with a number of positive reviews of the city having appeared in the national press.

The city is an entrepreneurial hotspot and is attracting inward investment, especially from the Chinese community, he said.
