One of the city's most historic hotels has a new owner following a £750,000 deal.
Robert Smith, who was previously a co-owner of the Plough & Harrow, has taken full control of the venue in Edgbaston through his company Complete Hotel Services after spending the past few years renovating the venue.
Mr Smith said: "The Plough & Harrow has enjoyed a good reputation over the years.
"It's a fabulous building popular with local and national business people as well as people travelling for leisure and visiting the city.
"We have worked hard to build relationships with other local companies to attract more customers to the hotel and look forward continuing to do so."
Funding for the purchase was provided by Barclays and, as part of the loan arrangement, the business has benefited from a cash back facility of £15,000 which will go towards enhancing the hotel further.
Senior business manager in Birmingham Manoj Patel added: "The Plough & Harrow is an iconic building in Birmingham's landscape.
"Robert and his team have worked tirelessly to grow the business and to be able to support this purchase has been very rewarding.
"I look forward to watching the business develop as Robert puts into place his ambitious growth plans."
