A Midlands-based developer will take charge of a £600 million office regeneration project above Birmingham’s New Street station.
The development will transform the dated city centre complex above the rail terminus into a high quality commercial centre named One Grand Central.
Birmingham Business Park-based Cannock Developments has been appointed by Network Rail and Birmingham City Council to work on the scheme. Expected to complete in 2015, the 100,000 sq ft project will be the first major new office space at the station.
Mike Tracey, of Cannock Developments, said: “This is an exciting and significant project and we are delighted to have been appointed to bring forward One Grand Central.”
Commercial property agency GBR Phoenix Beard is advising Cannock. The firm’s John Griffiths said: “The development will provide a major boost to the central Birmingham office market.”
