Liberty House Group is among the proud sponsors of this year’s Birmingham Post Business Awards which are pleased to promote the inspiring successes that are driving our city forwards.
An international business – with hubs in London, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong and interests in commodities, steel and advanced engineering products – the company backed BPBA2016 Excellence in Science and Technology Award.
It judged Cooksongold to be the winner – with runners up being Connect Group and UPG plc.
Liberty House Group Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Dawson, said: “These awards are a great opportunity for Birmingham, both to promote itself as a city and to celebrate the successes and wide variety of market-leading and innovative businesses within the region.
“It is the opportunity to inspire others by highlighting the quality and excellence of local enterprises.
“As a company with a big stake in the Midlands, we are eager to be involved with these prestigious awards in order to showcase excellence among our customers, suppliers and the whole business community.
“Birmingham is a vibrant city and an exciting environment for businesses, both large and small.
“It is one of Europe’s youngest major cities with 20 leading universities in the region, producing over 120,000 graduates every year.
“With such an abundance of talent, it naturally attracts substantial overseas investment.
“It is a centre of excellence in areas such as HR, law and financial services, and has a growing global reputation in life sciences and digital media.
“Because of this many of our customers are located in, or close to, the city of Birmingham and the West Midlands are a major hub of activity for Liberty House Group.”
Mr Dawson explained that the finalists of the Science and Technology category were selected and judged on the quality of their products and services, their dedication to sales performance, their commitment to innovation and the sustainability of their business.
“This is a fantastic award which celebrates the pioneering and developing companies across Birmingham that are setting the standard for science and technology in the region,” he said.
“As a company that is focused on employing the latest technologies in our own sector, we recognise the importance of harnessing scientific research and embracing technological advancements to deliver the next generation products and services in industries such as steel, automotive manufacture, motorsport, aerospace, defence, and many others.
“Our vision for the UK steel industry is called GREENSTEEL which centres on producing steel using local raw materials and sustainable energy while at the same time continuing to create value and employment in the downstream engineering sector and the wider industry.
“Liberty has a broad range of skills and expertise throughout the West Midlands region and works hard to deliver enhanced solutions for new and existing clients. We already command a high-profile customer base. Our strategy is to further invest in the future of UK manufacturing and engineering and to fully integrate our capabilities from liquid steel to finished engineering products, which we will continue to build upon.”
