The annual ball for Birmingham-based head and neck disease and cancer charity Get A-Head managed to raise £46,000.

The Ice Ball was hosted by radio presenter Mike Osman and was held in the Hilton Metropole Hotel, near the NEC in Birmingham.

An impressive 400 guests packed out the Monarch suite where they were treated to music from Detroit Soul and RPJ, whose front man, Rick Parfitt Junior, is the son of rock legend Rick Parfitt, guitarist in Status Quo.

Guests of the Get A-Head ball were also treated to raffle prizes, auction items and silent auction items, including two business class flights from Turkish Airlines.

Charity administrator Ann Marie Patrick said:

“After months of planning and incessant emails and phone calls organising the event, it really was fantastic to see a whole host of people come together, have a fantastic time and raise a substantial amount of money that will go towards more education, equipment and research.”
