The civil engineering sector has come even more to the fore in recent years in Birmingham and the West Midlands as the Government pushes ahead with its plans for high-speed rail.

HS2 is set to transform rail travel into the city from the capital while major road projects continue unabated, particular along the M6 and M5 and in Birmingham city centre.

In a special supplement in the latest edition of the Birmingham Post , we look at the issues affecting the sector with support from sponsors including the Institution of Civil Engineers and Aecom.

Molly McKenzie, Midlands regional director for the ICE, writes about the work of the trade body while Aecom's director Paul McCormick discusses the company's investment in the region and the work it is doing.

The supplement can be read in this week's Birmingham Postand also online here.
