The Birmingham Post officially launched its new app for iPad and iPhone with a networking event at The Bureau on Colmore Row in Birmingham.

The free app, which combines a breaking news section plus the weekly print edition is free to download from the app store.

More than 50 guests attended the lunch event at The Bureau, one of the newest bars and restaurants in the city centre.

Speaking at the launch event, Birmingham Post editor Stacey Barnfield said: “The media industry is going through unprecedented change, driven by numerous factors, but mostly changing technology and the many formats in which people find, consume and share news.

“Not only are the changes unprecedented, the speed at which this is happening is incredible.

“It is my determination that not only does one of the most respected regional press brands in the UK, the Birmingham Post, keep up with these changes but leads the change, too. I believe this app is a great example of that.”
