Volunteers from the Midland office of a national construction company have landscaped the area around a pond at a local infants school.

A group from Mansell’s Stourbridge-based Western region created a new pathway, slabbed area and added a garden bench at Beoley First School in Redditch.

The school is close to the Marlfields development where Mansell, part of the Balfour Beatty group, is building 79 Norwegian timber-framed sustainable houses for Redditch Co-operative Homes.

The work at the pond was carried out in conjunction with the support of ecological consultants Middlemarch Environmental, based in Coventry.

Mansell’s head of housing Simon Liversage said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity of improving the pond area at the school to make it more pleasant and easier for the children to use.”
