The Birmingham office of law firm Browne Jacobson has raised more than £2,200 for the Tiny Babies Big Appeal.
Run by the Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust Fundraising Office, the Tiny Babies Big Appeal was chosen by the office as its charity of the year 2011 and over the past 12 months employees have staged a number of fundraising events including Jeans Days, raffles, book sales, jewellery sales and donations.
The money will go towards buying equipment for the new neonatal unit to support the trust’s work with premature and sick babies.
The new £7 million neonatal unit was opened in 2010 and demand for the specialist care has spiralled in recent years. The unit currently receives more than 1,000 admissions a year from across Birmingham, the West Midlands and further afield.
Alison Brown, business operations manager at Browne Jacobson said: “Each year the entire office votes for a local charity it would like to support and the Tiny Babies Appeal Campaign was a very popular choice last year.
“We have always had a strong community action spirit across all our three offices and we hope that the money we have raised will make a difference towards helping the Trust achieve its ambitions for the unit.”
Fundraising manager Eileen Rock from Birmingham Women’s Hospital said: “We are so grateful to Browne Jacobson for their support and this fantastic donation.”
