Stockbroker Brewin Dolphin Securities has promoted four of its longest serving members of staff in Birmingham to divisional director and assistant director levels.

Roger Sedgwick, aged 40 and Adam Wilkins, aged 34, both become divisional directors, while Paul Sargent, aged 33 and Alan Jones, aged 39 are promoted to assistant directors.

John Cadwallader, managing director of the firm's Birmingham office, said the promotions were not directly related to last week's raid on Brewin staff by private client stockerbroker Christows.

Mr Cadwallader said: "As far as the two divisional directors are concerned the intention had been to make them up to director status anyway.

"We have speeded up the process a little bit for obvious reasons. There is no direct link to the Christows' announcement at all, but we thought we would get on and do it some three months earlier than planned."
