Stockbroker Brewin Dolphin is to pay a second interim dividend for the financial year ending tomorrow .

The firm, which has a major regional office in Birmingham, said trading in the second half of the year had been "at the top end of expectations".

Directors said in a brief update to the London Stock Exchange yesterday that a second half-year dividend of 2.5p per share will be paid, bringing the the total payout for the year to 4.5p, an increase of 29 per cent over last year.

The dividend will go out on October 25 to shareholders on the register on October 7, Brewin added.
