Seven Black Country charities have collectively received £3,750 in donations from The Tipton and Coseley Building Society’s Charitable Foundation.
The Tipton’s Charitable Foundation will donate more than £11,000 during this year to health and education community-based charities in the West Midlands.
Twice a year a panel of Society staff and members of the local community come together to decide how funds will be allocated. Local concerns to have benefited include: Age Concern, Sedgley; Cares Sandwell, Smethwick; Changing our Lives, Tipton; Coseley Fellowship for the Physically Handicapped; Deaf Blind UK, Dudley project; Enterprise Education Trust, Bilston and Coseley projects; Joseph Turner Primary School, Tipton.
Jason Breeze, senior marketing officer for the Tipton, said: “With news that more than half of charities in England and Wales have been hit by the recession, we are more determined than ever to show our ongoing support for the vital work these good concerns do across the region.
“I hope our cash donation will help towards their continued success in 2009 and beyond.”
