The Birmingham Post is carrying out a huge end-of-year survey to see just how bad the credit crunch in the West Midlands was for you, the readers.

The last 12 months have been a time of almost unprecedented financial turmoil, with a collapse in consumer confidence and a freeze in global money and property markets.

In the West Midlands the year saw job cuts in previously buoyant professional firms, a continuing downturn in manufacturing and the media, and enormous efforts from scared high-street retailers to entice shoppers in before Christmas.

The Birmingham Post Business Survey will find out how 2008 turned out for the business leaders, professionals and all the other readers of the Post, and what you want to see from the government next year.
