Bournville College is a proud sponsor of the Professional Services category of the prestigious Birmingham Post Business Awards.
The college’s reputation for delivering training in management and professional services is second to none. Many courses in this area are developed together with employers, to meet specific challenges of the sector.
With the challenges of the current economic climate, the college knows the value of trained staff and the importance of providing cost-effective training solutions, making it the first choice training provider for many organisations.
The college’s work in this sector is also well known across borders and the most recent example is a study tour that was recently organised for a group of Brazilian MBA students.
They explored areas of European law, HR and management practices and financial regulations.
Sonia Oliveira, Co-Ordinator of the MBA course at the University of Sao Paulo, who accompanied the group on their study tour, said: ‘This visit was extremely informative, not just from the business but also cultural point of view. It provided each individual with new knowledge which they can now apply in their own workplace in Brazil.’
Excellence of the college’s partnership work has been formally recognised by OfSTED earlier this year. They recognised outstanding partnerships across the college, but in particular partnerships with employers in this sector were described as highly productive.
Bournville College has an excellent track record of satisfied, successful learners in the professional services sector who have achieved career progression and personal development. Students consistently achieve outstanding results.
Maggie Nelson is the latest Diploma in Credit Management student who achieved the highest national result in her Credit Trade Export and Consumer exam, achieving 98 per cent.
Debbie Filgate, Lecturer on the Credit Management course at Bournville College, commented: “I am thrilled with Maggie’s success and the fact that I’ve now had prize winners in every cohort of students since I started teaching at Bournville four years ago.
“I find it extremely motivational from teaching perspective. We’re the only college in the region offering Institute of Credit Management courses and such success gives our students a guarantee of quality as well as something to which they can aspire.”
It is for these reasons that Bournville College is delighted to recognise and support best practice in the field of Professional Services.
Sponsoring this category is in line with Bournville College’s strategic priority of engaging with employers to improve the competitiveness of local and regional organisations.
This year is an exciting one for Bournville College, with the £66 million campus in Longbridge opening in September.
The college is looking forward to offering truly world class facilities to students and employers, including a well-equipped conference centre with seminar rooms, dedicated management centre, learning resources centre featuring latest technology, a 70-station fitness suite including a sauna and steam room, a restaurant, hair and beauty salons and much more.
The college is looking forward to a bright and promising future and one that will bring even more opportunities to students and businesses from the UK and abroad alike.
Bournville College is proud of the achievements of all local businesses and wishes all the entrants, especially those in the category of the Professional Services, the very best of luck!
