Online mobile phone retailer Mobile Fun has revealed sales have increased by more than half.
The Birmingham-based firm has seen sales for the six months to September 30 rise by 52 per cent, to £4.5 million, compared to the same period in 2009.
Profits before tax were £500,000 and management is forecasting profits for the full year to exceed £1 million.
During the six month period, the company saw total orders increase by 63 per cent, driven by increased demand for high gross margin accessories for mobile phones and other consumer electronics devices.
The main www.MobileFun.co.uk website accounted for 60 per cent of the increase in order volume while European export orders also increased.
The German website, www.MobileFun.de accounted for 9 per cent of the order growth and the newly launched French website, MobileFun.fr, accounted for 18 per cent. The French website was launched in July 2010 and its sales are already outstripping projected targets, the company said.
Anthony Cook, founder and chairman of Mobile Fun, said: “Our market positioning, as a specialist accessories etailer, and the results of our long term strategy have enabled us to capitalise on significant opportunities. We continue to maintain a positive outlook for the year ahead.”
