Birmingham is to play host to one of the world’s largest meetings of international veterinary professionals after the ICC won the contract to stage the event.
The annual World Small Animal Veterinary Congress will be staged at The ICC from April 2-5, 2012, and is scheduled to coincide with the British Small Animal Veterinary Association annual conference.
The WSAVA has 76 member and affiliate organisations representing some 70,000 individual veterinarians from around the world. ICC director of international sales, Catherine Newhall-Caiger, said: “The WSAVA is yet another world-class international meeting that will be hosted here at the ICC.
“This event was last held here in 1997 and I am exceptionally pleased to be able to welcome them back.”
“The BSAVA was the very first association to hold an event here at the ICC when the venue opened in 1991 and they have returned to us every year since.
“We have developed an excellent relationship with the organisers.”
BSAVA president Professor Ed Hall said: “The ICC in Birmingham remains the best conference venue I have ever attended, not just in terms of its facilities and professionalism, but also in the warmness of the welcome.”
Previous WSAVA World Congresses have been held in Dublin, Amsterdam, Prague, Mexico City and Bangkok.
