Doubts have been cast over jobs at hydraulic equipment hire business EPL Access after the firm fell into administration.

Ian Corfield and Myles Halley, of KPMG Restructuring, have been appointed joint administrators of the Bedfordshire company, which has a depot in Landor Street, Birmingham.

The company employs 105 staff, with outlets in Bristol, Carlisle, Enfield, Falkirk, Manchester and Winchester.

The company, which hires equipment to local authorities, highways maintenance companies and security firms, turned over £8.1 million last year.

Mr Corfield said: “The company has been suffering due to the current difficult trading conditions which have resulted in problems with cash flow. Despite the best efforts of its directors, they were unable to secure additional funding and have had no option but to place the company into administration. “We will now be working to stabilise the business while we review the options.”
