Birmingham-based distribution company International Forwarding is building on its success at the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Annual Freight Service Awards by recruiting several new employees and increasing its fleet of vehicles.

The company, which is a member of UK distribution pallet network Palletways, was awarded the European Logistics Award at the BIFA awards by former politician and respected TV personality Michael Portillo last month.

To drive its expansion, the Coleshill-based company has now hired two new warehouse staff and two senior sales people, increasing its total number of employees to 60.

It has also bought two new eight-tonne Scania vehicles to add to its existing 13 It has alsoand relaunched its website, successfully contributing to an increase from only ten visitors a month to over 1,300.

Nigel Parsons, sales director of International Forwarding, said: “We’re working really hard, particularly in the current economic climate, to develop and grow the company to enable us to maintain the leading edge service that we provide to our customers.

“Our expansion and winning the BIFA award will allow us to continue to expand our business via the Palletways network.
