Generous business people are supporting a fund-raiser to help people devastated by the bushfires in Australia.

The Bushfire Balti is being co-ordinated by Phil Pemble of Pertemps, inspired by the company’s links with its Australian owners.

The fundraiser at Cinnamon Red, in Birmingham, on Tuesday, April 28, will include Australian themed entertainment. Didgeridoo player Peter Kelly, on secondment from Pertemps parent company in Melbourne, may even make an appearance.

Phil hoped other business people would be able to donate items for the raffle and auction, being run by Carl Chinn and spare £15 for a ticket.

Phil said: “The fund-raising evening is to support those who lost homes, belongings and in some instances family through the bushfires that recently devastated parts of Australia. As we are now antipodean owned we felt we wanted to do something to support and will be linking in with Buxton Country Fire Authority north of Melbourne to provide some much needed replacement fire fighting equipment rather than just giving to the overall appeal.”
