A West Midlands construction company has landed a £1.3 million contract with a newly-merged housing association.
Benfield Construction, which is based in Paynes Lane, Coventry, has just started work on a 40-week project with Midland Heart on a development in Polesworth.
The construction of 15 new two and three-bedroom houses should be complete by next spring.
The firm is the amalgamation of Touchstone Housing and Focus Housing to form a larger group.
Martin Woodhouse, managing director of Ben-field Construction, said: "We have worked for both Touchstone and Focus in the past so we are delighted to have been selected for this project by Midland Heart.
During the build we will be putting into practice a modern method of construction and it will be the first time Benfield Construction has worked this way."
The new method is called the 'thin joint block system' which is similar to timber framing only with aerated thermal blocks.
It means the facing bricks can be left until later in the build and allows work to start inside the house more quickly.
The houses are being built at The Lynch in Polesworth and should be ready for March 2007.
Mr Woodhouse added: "We have built up a very good reputation with housing associations over the years and we are very pleased to have landed this contract."
