Accountants BDO Stoy Hayward have appointed new directors to boost its Wolverhampton office.

All three appointments are internal promotions.

Paul Townson, aged 37, is promoted to tax director. In his new position Mr Townson, previously senior tax manager, will advise entrepreneurs and owner managed businesses on strategies to minimise tax exposure in both their business and personal affairs.

Steve Ward, a graduate entrant to BDO Stoy Hayward in 1994, has been promoted to director in the corporate advisory group, specialising in the delivery of strategic advice and team- management workshops. Aged 32, he was formerly a senior manager.

Kevin Bruerton, aged 38, has been promoted to risk assurance director with a ten-strong team providing advice on risk management, corporate governance and internal control to commercial and public sector clients. Martin Palmer, lead partner at BDO Stoy Hayward in the Midlands, said the promotions recognised the contribution the three had made to the firm and reflected the high quality of work and advice given to clients.

"Their promotion underlines and demonstrates the firm's faith in their ability," he said.
