Employees at an international construction company have raised nearly £3,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital through a boating challenge.
A team from Bam Construction in the Midlands took part in the annual BrindleyPlace charity dragonboat race, and while they didn’t do quite as well as Team GB they put their best oar forward to finish 12th out of 22 teams.
Ian French, construction manager on Bam’s new student village for Aston University, said: “We are definitely better at raising money for our local communities than we are at rowing.
“The money raised will go towards the Children’s Cancer Appeal and we hope to reach our target of £10,000 for the appeal over the next year.”
