Comedian, impressionist and radio presenter Mike Osman has been signed up to provide the fun and laughter at this month's 21st Variety Club Midlands Business Awards sponsored by KPMG.

A winner of numerous honours for his talent, including three New York World Radio Awards, Mike will share the billing with the Treorchy Male Choir, probably the most famous male voice choir in the world.

During the dinner at Birmingham's International Convention Centre on January 24 at which the awards will be presented, two Variety Club Sunshine Coaches will also be handed over.

One for Mayfield Special School in Handsworth, Birmingham, is being sponsored by KPMG and the other for Wood-setton School, Dudley, will be handed over in the name of Doug Ellis, the former Aston Villa chairman. The evening will be hosted by Angela Rippon.

KPMG is also sponsoring the principal award, Business Leader of the Year, and the other awards are for Business Innovator (backed by NEC Group), Small Business (Britannia Services Group) and Business Working in the Community (Birmingham City Council). All proceeds from the dinner will go towards helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the Midlands region.

Variety Club Midlands has supplied Sunshine Coaches, wheelchairs and other medical aids.

Winners of the various award categories - which recognise the role that business in the Midlands plays in the prosperity of the UK - will be presented with trophies.
