Staffordshire air conditioning and refrigeration firm Auxilia has completed its third acquisition in 18 months.

The fast growing Cannock firm has bought Halifax-based Norton Refrigeration for an undisclosed sum. The deal follows last summer's acquisitions of Air Continental, also based in Cannock, and Peak Refrigeration of Wigan Auxilia, which employs more than 125 people nationally and has an expected turnover this year of £25 million, is set to consolidate the operations of Norton at its Midland site.

The latest deal was structured by the Birmingham office of law firm Cobbetts, with advice from corporate partner Mark Gibson and solicitor Darren Walker.

Andy Price, financial director at Auxilia Group, said: "Norton will compliment the existing companies within the Auxilia group and we look forward to a long and successful relationship."

Mr Gibson said: "Auxilia's aim is to develop national coverage providing first class design, installation and maintenance services in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector. Following its third acquisition, Auxilia appears to be making great progress and it intends to concentrate on its buy and build strategy, assessing further growth opportunities as they arise to add to its range of services."
