An auction for youth homelessness charity St Basil's is already attracting worldwide attention.

The fundraiser this Thursday May 29th at the Vaults Bar on Newhall Hill in the centre of Birmingham, will include the auction of a limited first edition hardback copy of Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason's book 'Inside Out' - a personal history of Pink Floyd'. This special lot has been signed by the Edgbaston-born band member himself and the artist, Storm Thorgerson.

Other lots include the chance to be a reporter for a day on the Birmingham Post an exclusive tour of the Midlands Today studio and a weekend break for two in the countryside. Birmingham-based IT companies, Netshield and Computer People are sponsoring the event.

Nigel Ward from Netshield, the brains behind the auction, said: "Since we began organising the auction we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people. Youth homelessness is an issue that is close to all our hearts and we hope that through an event like this we can help to raise much needed funds that will go towards helping the hundreds of young people that use St Basil's facilities every day."

Doors open at 5pm with aucton tickets costing £5. Anyone interested in attending the event is required to register online at www.netshield.co.uk/email/StBasils.htm due to limited numbers.
