Waste water treatment specialist ARM has clinched a £100,000 contract to maintain all reed beds used by Severn Trent Water.

The partnership contract will involve the inspection, maintenance and refurbishment of more than 300 reed beds throughout the central area of the UK.

Staffordshire-based ARM, one of the top reed bed design and construction companies in Europe, provides major reed bed installations for natural pollution, waste water and sewage treatment at waterworks and industrial sites all over the UK.

Many of Severn Trent's reed beds, which are used to purify waste water, were originally installed by ARM, which employs 20 people.

Delighted ARM commercial manager Tori Widdas said: "This contract recognises our expertise and capability in ensuring the reed beds continue to run to their design specifications."
