Gladman Developments has started work on two 25,500 sq ft buildings at Staffordshire Technology Park in Stafford - at the same time as a 25,000 sq ft building on the business park has gone under offer.
The two new headquarters buildings will add a further 51,000 sq ft of quality office accommodation to the 300,000 sq ft which the Congletonbased developer has already completed at Staffordshire Technology Park, the largest single office development, not just in Staffordshire, but located anywhere between north Birmingham and south Manchester.
Located next to the University of Staffordshire, on a 44-acre greenfield site on the A513, less than one and half miles from the centre of Stafford and within three miles of the M6, Staffordshire Tech-nology Park is already a major success story for the town. According to Gladman's Romy Silvers, the company's work at the technology park has helped to sustain employment opportunities in Stafford, providing a home for more than 4,000 jobs.
"Staffordshire Technology Park has established Stafford as an office location," she said.
"Without it many local businesses would have had to relocate elsewhere out of Stafford, national employers would not have come to the town, and the public sector would have had to remain in unsuitable buildings in the town centre, many of which are now being regenerated as o ffice or residential accommodation.
"Instead, we have got a thriving office community based in new purpose-built accommodation, set in a semi-rural environment, close to the M6 and with good car parking."
The new 25,500 sq ft buildings are expected to help attract up to a further 500 jobs to the town.
"As soon as we announced plans for a 25,000 sq ft building, the first of its size at Staffordshire Technology Park and the largest ever speculative office building for a single occupier in the borough of Stafford, the interest from potential occupiers was enough for us to make a planning application for a further two of a similar size," Ms Silvers added.
The first building is under offer to a local organisation, with the sale expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
The initial 25,000 sq ft building is part of Parker Court, a 90,000 sq ft development phase comprising new buildings of 2,200 sq ft, 5,000 sq ft and 10,000 sq ft.
